FAQ

  • Our 6th generation product, CytoActive® post injection serum, is designed specifically for aesthetic and cosmetic post-procedural use because of its specific formulation, strength and consistency. It is only available for purchase by licensed healthcare professionals.

The ultra-concentrated serum formula of CytoActive® has the viscosity of ultra sound jelly, typically used in post-injection and cosmetic massages. It is our Professional Strength version – its apply-ability and effectiveness offer your patients less down time due to post-procedural bruising, so higher patient satisfaction.

  • Yes, Dr. Mary Lupo completed a double-blinded, randomized, placebo-controlled split-face, within-subject evaluation of our Bruise Relief serum in April, 2009. Results of the 25-person study showed that 65% of those patients who bruised at all realized a significant reduction in the frequency, severity and duration of bruising with a single post-procedural application of Bruise Relief versus the placebo.

Probability values were 0.0796 and 0.0727 for day-1 and day-7, respectively. The product was well tolerated with no side effects. This study helped us formulate our licensed healthcare-distributed-only CytoActive® formulas, available since 2010.

  • Simple by design, the ingredients are Glycerin (glycerol), Purified Water, Evening Primrose Oil, Vitamin E Oil (tocopheryl acetate), Vitamin C (ascorbic acid), a thickener known as Carbomer, and now a silicone known as Silmer. As we age, our skin gets “thinner” so there is less padding to protect the capillaries below.

The emollients and vitamins in our formulas super-hydrate the skin and quickly penetrate directly into the area and help prevent the “pooling” of blood that will become the bruise. Glycerin, a humectant, is allowed to penetrate through the skin and acts as the delivery agent for itself and the other ingredients directly to the area where a bruise may form as the result of broken capillaries due to various procedures.

The vitamin E’s antioxidant properties help protect cell membranes as well as smooth the surface and dermal layers of the skin. Evening primrose oil contains gamma linolenic acid (GLA), an omega-6 fatty acid which has been known to help many minor skin conditions for centuries. Vitamin C helps skin appear brighter and youthful.

Silicone has enhanced the spreading and leveling properties of our patented formulation and its topical applications. Together with the water, our ingredients quickly absorb directly into the area and help prevent the pooling of released blood that would remain and result in a bruise lasting for several days.

  • In addition to post-filler injections and post-Botox injections, patients have reported less bruising after sclerotherapy treatments and certain laser treatments. Dentists, eye and oral surgeons have also reported less bruising with the application of our products for 1-2 days post procedure. Overall, consider CytoActive® beneficial for any aesthetic and cosmetic procedures that have a high frequency of non-treatment-related bruising.

  • Because post-procedural bruising is the single most common non-treatment complaint, its best and completely safe to apply CytoActive® immediately following injections or other cosmetic, dental or surgical procedures to the areas around and below the site. The patient should reapply 2-5 times for best results.

  • CytoActive® is a unique formulation of natural ingredients that together work to quickly diminish or eliminate the appearance of bruising. There are no unregulated herbs or ingredients, and no need to require patients to use days before their procedure. The product is topical-use-only so does not interfere with other medications like blood thinners.
