What was once a Holmquist family bruise remedy has been clinically proven and is now used in homes and medical practices nationwide.
For decades now, CytoActive® has stayed in the family and is now owed and operated by descendent of Dr. Holmquist, Barbara Danos Cranner, her son, and a team of wonderful sales staff.
Our ancestry
Great-Grandma Henrietta Thompson (born in the late 1800’s) is responsible for the original remedy that we now know and love as CytoActive®. She and her French immigrant family used a glycerin-based serum to soothe bumps, bruises, and skin conditions for kids and elderly alike in New Orleans around the turn of the twentieth century.
Initial research
The late Dr. Nelson Holmquist was an Ivy-league trained CytoPathologist and Professor of Pathology at LSU Medical School. He knew there was something real behind the family remedy, and performed a great deal of research on the formula to discover what made the serum so effective.
